Instructions for changing Mail Server names.

Your mail server name for both incoming and outgoing will change to the mail server names givento you by your isp, usually something like mail.yourdomain.com   Example for bob@the-kelleys.net would have a mail server name such as  mail.the-kelleys.net  or possibly it  would be pop3.the-kelleys.net

To change these settings in Outlook Express, with the program open, on the Menu Bar go to Tools, then Accounts. You go to the tab marked Mail, find your email account and double-click it to bring up the Properties.  Go to the tab marked Servers, and in the text fields for incoming and outgoing mail servers change them to mail.your.domain (ie, mail.the-kelleys.net, mail.kelleys.info, etc)

In Microsoft Outlook 97, it will be Tools, then Services and then Internet Mail. (some versions of Outlook 97 do have accounts)  Outlook 2000 is similar to Outlook Express.  In Outlook XP, it is Tools, Email Accounts, then View or Change accounts.

For Netscape 4.X users go to Edit, then Preferences.  Display the Mail and News Servers dialog page.  Change the smtp server at the bottom and in the upper right quadrant, click on the mail server then edit.  Netscape 7.X call.
